Sonakshi Sinha is receiving love for her recent performance in Heeramandi. She was born on June 2, 1987, into a family of actors, her parents are Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She is 37 years old and she celebrated her birthday yesterday.
Sonakshi Sinha follows a similar approach off-screen too, no matter how viciously the nameless users of the social media platforms attack her for her weight and physique. The gorgeous actress has time and again silenced the trolls with her deep-rooted understanding of ‘beauty has no body type’. She is the body confidence inspiration we need in 2024.
While Sonakshi debuted in 2010, the 33-year-old star has undergone a massive transformation in the last ten years. Even before her debut, Sonakshi lost a massive 30kg but was still heavily trolled for not looking like the typical svelte Bollywood beauty. Bullying at a young age is also something that Sonakshi has been vocal about in the past:
“You know, I was always an overweight kid. I used to weigh 95 kilos in school. People would bully me and boys would call me names.”
In an old interview, the actress spoke about self-love and said that she doesn’t care what people call her and is only focused on being fit for herself. Sonakshi also admitted that the only reason she got a gym membership before entering Bollywood was to look “cool.” Even when she struggled to exercise because of her weight, she took it seriously.
She spoke at length and said: “I remember when I was 18 and I got a gym membership… it was considered pretty cool to work out in a gym. But when I got on the treadmill, I couldn’t run for more than 30 seconds! I was out of breath! That’s when I decided to lose weight. Not because I wanted to be an actor, but because I knew it was necessary. And I was proud of myself too. But people still talked about how much I weighed and how I looked!”
Sonakshi said she never lost weight to prove herself or to fit into Bollywood norms, but Salman Khan, her first co-star, inspired her the most.
It is indeed very inspiring to see how Sonakshi has worked on herself and made fitness a priority in her life without compromising on anything. Super fit and stylish, Sonakshi looks beautiful!
She even gave an apt example of how one needs to find a balance to stay fit and healthy without subjecting oneself to irrational norms, which are total goals.
“For example, if you want to make an omelette, then make an omelette, but don’t be like, Oh God, the egg has to be the perfect shape and this particular colour! Don’t make fun of these things! If you want to make an omelette, just do it!”, she said.
Her daily routine ensures that she keeps fit with some form of functional and cardiovascular training.
