Malayalam Writer SN Swamy's Directorial Debut, Secret, To Release On July 26

Prominent Malayalam writer SN Swamy will mark his debut in the direction of the Malayalam film Secret, headlined by Dhyan Sreenivasan. Dhyan has unveiled the poster of this film on social media, showing his and actor Ranjith’s half-faces giving intense expressions. It hints at an intriguing drama followed by a faceoff between Dhyan and Ranjith’s characters. The Secret’s release date has also been announced. It will hit the big screens on July 26. Touted to be a psychological mystery drama, this film boasts a stellar star cast starring Aparna Das, Ranjith, Jacob Gregory, Renji Panicker, Kalesh Ramanand and others. Jackson Johnson is the cinematographer of the film with editing being done by Basod T Baburaj.

Music composer Jakes Bejoy completes the core technical team. Rajendra Prasad has produced this film under the banner of Lakshmi Parvathy Vision.

In an exclusive interview with the ETimes, Kalesh Ramanand, who enacts the role of psychologist Moorthy, shared important insights into the Secret’s story’s premise. Psychologist Moorthy’s character will be shown as (Mithun) Dhyan Sreenivasan’s close friend in Secret. According to Kalesh, Dhyan, Aparna Das, Gregory and he form a close-knot friendship circle. He further said that the story unfolds when our gang attends my character’s wedding and a subsequent trip triggers a personal crisis for Dhyan’s character Mithun.

SN Swamy is best known for scripting several brilliant thrillers like the CBI series, Irupatham Nottandu, August 1, Moonnam Mura, Naduvazhikal, Kalikkalam, Adikurippu and Dhruvam. The last film he penned was CBI 5: The Brain. Mammootty, Anoop Menon, Sudev Nair, G Suresh Kumar and others acted in this film. CBI 5 failed to do justice to Swamy’s writing. As per the audience, the script and the storytelling style were too weak, failing to hold the audience’s attention.

As a producer

SN Swamy had a short stint as a producer as well with the Telugu serial Mounaraagam, streaming from September 17, 2018. Priyanka Jain, Shiva Kumar and Anila Aslam played key roles in this series. The story revolves around a girl child who endures a tough time due to her family who always wanted a boy.
