It’s no longer a secret that Jennifer Lopez has been navigating a challenging period following her divorce from Ben Affleck. Describing it as the “hardest time” of her life, she has faced intense media scrutiny and online backlash. In a candid conversation with Nikki Glaser, Jennifer opened up about her experiences over the past few months, reflecting on the challenges of her marriage, the impact of a public split and the ongoing criticism she has encountered online.
Stating that she was aware of all the online chatter surrounding her personal life, Jennifer said, “I know everything that’s been written and said about me, and all the conjectures of who I am as a person are not who I am. I learned that a long time ago.”
The Atlas actress noted that Jennifer constantly reminds herself about not taking everyone on the internet seriously as long as her close ones know the truth. “To have a long career, one has to learn to deal with that part of the business. People who hate her for no reason whatsoever hold no significance in my life. What truly matters as an entertainer is doing the work that’s inspiring. Everything else doesn’t matter. This is my life’s passion. I love to sing, to dance, to act, to entertain, and to create,” she added.
Elsewhere in the interview, JLo also reflected on the past few months when her “world exploded,” adding that she felt lonely, scary, desperate and sad. “These things are not going to kill me;’ it’s like, actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but I was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, ‘No, I’m actually good,'” she continued, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
For those unaware, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from her husband Ben Affleck in August this year. While their relationship might have ended, the two still remain professional together, with Affleck producing two of her upcoming films including Unstoppable and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
