Fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington’s storyline in the second part of Bridgerton season 3, portrayed by Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan. With the upcoming release scheduled to stream from June 13, curiosity among fans is at an all-time high. Additionally, excitement is growing regarding which Bridgerton family’s story will take center stage in season 4. During the UK premiere of season 3, part 2, creator Jess Brownell confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that season 4 is already in development. She also provided eager fans with a glimpse of what they can expect next.
Although Jess didn’t reveal much information, she discussed the expected timeline for the next instalment, keeping the excitement alive among enthusiasts. Without revealing the lead couple of season 4, Brownell said, “I have almost slipped up a couple of times so keep asking and maybe I’ll slip up. I’m really excited about what we’re writing. We’re towards the end with the writers’ room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writer’s room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration and we’re firing on all cylinders so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have.”
“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited and then they have to be dubbed into every language. And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range,” she added.
Further, when asked about fans’ speculation and theories for Bridgerton season 4, Jess Brownell commented on whether fans will be satisfied with the story. She mentioned that it’s difficult to predict because there are many different romantic pairs (ships) in the series. However, she hinted that fans of one particular pair would likely be very happy. Jess also felt proud about how well the current season has been received by viewers and thanked fans for their constant support. She added that with each season, the excitement among viewers grows and credits actors, including Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, along with artists from the earlier seasons for the success.
Bridgerton season three, part two, will debut on Netflix on June 13.
