Box Office Clash On Makar Sankranti Pushes Release Of These Films In Telugu States
Captain Miller and Ayalaan are expected to experience a delayed release in Telugu states.

Pongal and Makar Sankranti, the festival which marks the beginning of the harvest season, will be celebrated on January 15. To amp up the celebration in India, several films open to theatres. This year, three major Tamil films – Captain Miller, Ayalaan, and Mission: Chapter 1 – are set to hit screens for Pongal. On the other hand, Makar Sankranti will see the release of Telugu movies like Guntur Kaaram, Naa Sami Ranga, Saindhav, and HanuMan. The busy weekend is prompting theatre owners in Telugu states to prioritise local releases, causing a delay in the release of Tamil films in these states.

Captain Miller and Ayalaan are expected to experience a delayed release in Telugu states. This uncertainty may impact their box office performance in neighbouring states.

Nevertheless, both films are gearing up for a grand release in other locations, creating excitement among fans for the clash of Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan’s movies. Captain Miller and Ayalaan will simultaneously be released in multiple languages, while Arun Vijay’s Mission: Chapter 1 is slated for a Tamil-only release. The promotion for all three films is underway, promising fans a memorable cinematic experience across different genres.

Due to the crowded Sankranti schedule with multiple highly anticipated films, the makers of Eagle, featuring Ravi Teja, have decided to postpone its release. This move aims to avoid a clash with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram and other competing films. Ravi Teja shared a new poster on Instagram on January 5, informing fans and cinema enthusiasts about the updated release date.

Ravi Teja wrote on X “Taking a step back for the welfare of our Telugu Cinema. A little change in the arrival not in the shot & target. #EAGLE from February 9th,2024:)))) Wishing the very best to all the films releasing this Sankranthi”.

In response to the Sankranti clash, the film producers convened a meeting and reached a mutual decision. Producer Dil Raju shared with the media, “Eagle will now have a solo release on February 9. We’ve also coordinated with the Tillu Square team scheduled for the same day, and they have agreed to postpone. We plan to discuss this with the Yatra 2 team, urging them to consider a postponement. This collective effort aims for the betterment of the Telugu film industry”.
