You never think twice before calling her multiple times in a day. Whether it is about your first teacher, the first friend you make or your first crush, she is the first person to know just about everything that happens in your life. Yes, that's the significance mothers have in one's life. Actress Sugandha Garg, who is busy promoting her upcoming film 'Coffee Bloom', says she considers mother as her personal hero.
"It might sound clichéd, but my mother has been the most inspiring woman in my life. Even when she was raising us, she provided us with an atmosphere that was different and conducive for growth. My mother was different in the sense that she was a blend of modern and traditional values," she explains.
Sugandha, who has been friends with her mother, has always seen her as a confidante. "I never felt the need to hide anything from her not even the fact that I had a boyfriend. For my mother was fine with it. But there some rules for us too. For instance, we were never allowed to stay back at a friend's place. Since I was in Delhi, she had every reason to be extra cautious."
Aware of the fact that many find the term 'feminism' off-putting and negative, Sugandha feels there is nothing wrong with one believing in equality between the genders, and voicing their opinions about equality and gender rights. "I don't think women should be accused of being feminists. I want every woman to voice their feminist concerns and not get bogged down by critics."
