Yaariyan: Will it be another 'Aashiqui 2' for the makers?
'Yaariyan' is a college-romance film and marks the debut of Himansh Kohli and Rakul Preet Singh.

New Delhi: The success of 'Aashiqui 2' came as a relief for many filmmakers who wish to make films in a limited budget. The film's commercial success gave them the confidence that with good production values even their films can get favour from the audience who are constantly in search of good content.

With backing from a production house like T Series, 'Yaariyan' is on its way of becoming 'Aashiqui 2' of this year. The songs of the film are already hit and thus it is likely to receive a satisfactory opening, however it's releasing against 'Dedh Ishqiya' and that can make some dent into its collections.

Divya Khosla Kumar, the director of 'Yaariyan', has already started working on a new script.

"As a filmmaker, I have a lot of future plans. I have already started working on a new script. But it would be too early to talk about another film now as the release of 'Yaariyan' is just round the corner," Divya said here Sunday while promoting her first movie.

Divya, wife of T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, is keeping her fingers crossed and hopes that the audience appreciates the film.

"We are going to a lot of TV shows, doing interviews...so definitely promotions are in full swing."

"I'm just hoping that the audience gives our film a good opening Jan 10 and there is a weekend after that. It is a very entertaining film, the audience will enjoy it and it will make you laugh and cry," Divya said.

'Yaariyan' is a college-romance film and marks the debut of Himansh Kohli and Rakul Preet Singh.

Rakul Preet Singh says the competition is higher in Bollywood.

"Competition level is high here. There is competition in South as well and it is difficult to prove yourself down South also, but it's different here in Bollywood. It just adds to your acting skills."

Praising Divya she said that despite being a first time director, she was clued in and confident.

"I was surprised when she gave the narration. She knew each line and scene by scene. She was auditioning each and everyone personally and that shows her passion for her film. We have seen her earlier work and knew her talent from day one," Rakul told IANS.

"We never felt she was directing her first film, she was so confident. She was involved in everything - be it background, costume," added the actress who has done a few films down South.

It also stars veterans Gulshan Grover and Deepti Naval.
