Will audiences accept the Kareena-Imran pair?
Will audiences accept the Kareena-Imran pair?
Imran Khan appears immature in front of Kareena and that can be a bit difficult for the audiences to digest.

New Delhi: The hit 1995 film 'Raja' was later criticized for its title by some of the industry experts. They felt that the film should have been called 'Rani' due to the marvellous performance given by Madhuri Dixit. It seems that 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' is heading towards the same fate.

The heroine of the film Kareena Kapoor is not only more experienced than the hero Imran Khan but her screen presence is also more effective than Khan. A career that had started in 2000 with JP Dutta's 'Refugee' took a definitive turn in 2004 with Sudhir Mishra's 'Chameli', where she donned the role of a prostitute, something Kareena avoided in the beginning of her career.

'Aitraaz', 'Omkara' took the journey forward and she became the common people's heroine with 2007 release 'Jab We Met'. Imtiaz Ali's portrayal of Geet got her the awards and appreciation. Thereafter films such as 'Golmaal' series, '3 Idiots', 'Bodyguard', and 'RA.One' established Kareena as the number one actress of the Hindi film industry.

This year seems to be consolidating her position in the film industry. 'Agent Vinod' with Saif Ali Khan is all set to hit the screens in February. 'Talaash' with Aamir Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar's much awaited 'Heroine' are also scheduled to be released this year.

Kareena is still known for her typically urban looks and stylish wardrobe.

Probably, 'Jab We Met' was the first film where critics took her work seriously. She had essayed a role that people generally didn't associate with her before this film. Shot in hills and Punjab, her transition from one emotion to the other was smooth and notice worthy. Geet's character didn't flaunt stylish clothes and designer jewelleries; still she excelled in the role.

However, Kareena's overall image has not evolved as a thinking actor yet and 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' is going to encash the same image.

The promos of the film suggest her return with a similar role. Imran Khan appears immature in front of her and that can be a bit difficult for the audiences to digest as our audiences have not seen many onscreen pairs with clear cut age gap.

Whatever be the fate of 'Ek Main Aur Ekk tu', Kareena is apparently going to rule the silver screen this year.####
