A talented actor, Rana first gave audiences the creeps when he was seen in the role of psychopathic cross-dressing murderer in 'Sangharsh'.

New Delhi: Seriously. It is all in the eyes. Don't you remember the heroes and villains locked in a death-stare? The one who blinks first, loses.

One of the things that caught our attention in the latest film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' -- apart from Alia Bhatt's over the top make-up -- was of course Ashutosh Rana's eyeballs. Like, seriously. They are SCARY. Under all that bushy beard and moustache, when he glared at the poor bumbling lover Varun Dhawan, time stood still. Like, his eyeballs had the magnetic pull of a black hole or something.

A talented actor, Rana first gave audiences the creeps when he was seen in the role of psychopathic cross-dressing murderer in 'Sangharsh'. After that, some of his memorable roles were in 'Raaz', 'Karz' and 'LOC: Kargil', among others.

As 'Humpty...' has been famously inspired by the 90s hit 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge', it was inevitable that they got on board a talented actor who could fill in the shoes of the late actor Amrish Puri. While Puri will long be remembered for his portrayal of the strict, scary but the dad with a heart of gold role in DDLJ, Ashutosh Rana was a whole new level of intimidating in 'Humpty...'

Firstly, he looked fit and muscular. Secondly, there were those pointy mustaches. And thirdly, Rana has the knack to glower, even as his face is smiling. We could see several instances of that, and were satisfied to see Varun quail in an appropriate manner.

What's your reaction?
