What has Salem been telling CBI?

Mumbai: Slowly, but surely, Abu Salem is revealing details that the CBI wants to hear from him.

His first confessions came on Monday, after four days of interrogation, when he told the CBI about his links with Sanjay Dutt and Dutt?s links with Chhota Shakeel and Anees Ibrahim.

It is clear that this man has a long story to tell and the interrogators are making him spill the beans.

But CBI is tightlipped about the details of further confessions that may have come from the don.

CBI Director Uma Shankar Mishra has said that he does not want to reveal anything on the nature of interrogation and he will not reveal whether he has made a confessional statement.

But, Mishra says the don has been cooperating in the investigations so far.

Whether or not Abu Salem has made a confessional statement to the CBI, what he has been telling his interrogators is just the tip of the iceberg.

The CBI says that after Sanjay Dutt, they will get to the bottom of the nexus between the Mumbai underworld and Bollywood.

But CBI is not convinced if Salem is telling the truth and plans to use the lie detector on him.

The investigators are also trying to find out whether his story on how he split up with mentor Dawood Ibrahim is true or false.
