Officials of Kallar Reclamation Office suspended a warden of Rayappanpatti Kallar Reclamation Hostel for allegedly inflating the resident student list and swindling money by creating fake accounts for grocery and cooking gas.
Pandurangan, Joint Director (JD) of the Kallar reclamation office, Madurai, inspected the hostel on Saturday and suspended warden Adithan, who allegedly connived with the hostel watchman, the cook and an assistant.
In an earlier inquiry ordered by Theni Collector K S Palanisamy, Uthamapalayam Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Kannan found that only three students stayed at the hostel while the record books claimed that 21 students from St Aloysias Higher Sec School and Savariayappa Udayar School stayed there. Those listed in the hostel records were former students of the two schools.
Karunakkamuthanpatti hostel warden Alagesan will hold additional charge of the Rayappanpatti Kallar Reclamation Hostel.
