On Sunday, the weather department predicted dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir until September 12.

However, it said the Union Territory will witness a brief spell of rain in isolated parts on some days.

Earlier today, landslides triggered by heavy rain left the Badrinath National Highway in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district blocked at several points.

The highway was blocked at Pagalnala, Patalganga and Nandaprayag and efforts to reopen it were underway, the district disaster management centre told news agency PTI.

Seven shops in the Simli market were damaged by landslide debris, it said.
