With an aim to spread awareness about entitlements among the beneficiaries, the district administration has roped in tribal cultural troupes in its Information Education and Communication (IEC) programme.
As a part of this mission, a mega cultural programme was organised here under the banner of District Council of Culture (DCC) where more than 10 troupes, including ‘Koya’ and ‘Didyai’ from different regions of the district performed.
Inaugurating the programme, Collector M Muthu Kumar said, “Augment and harness full potential of IEC to empower the rural poor. The participatory model for development would help put across the key message to the stakeholders including the beneficiaries and implementers.”
The model would also ensure an interactive process by way of organising cultural events wherein people get an opportunity to air their opinions, he added.
ZP Vice-President Banshidhar Muduli, DFO T. Ashok Kumar, DRDA Project Director and Sub-Collector Loknath Mandia were present.
