New Delhi: Hundreds of Tibetans living in exile in India are to stage a three-day sit-in at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi from Wednesday to coincide with the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to protest against human rights violations in Tibet.

The protest is being organised by the Tibetan Youth Congress and is expected to attract many youth.

Tenzin Lekshay, a Tibetan youngster in Delhi, said: "The three-day sit-in is to protest against the human rights violations in Tibet and demand freedom. Besides the protest, there will also be a panel discussion on the topic 'Re-think India Sino-Tibet Policies' at the India Habitat Centre on Wednesday."

According to Lekshay, the discussion will see the participation of several Tibetan NGOs like Gu-Chu-Sum, an organisation of political prisoners, Tibetan Women's Association, Students for Free Tibet and the National Democratic Party of Tibet.
