The upcoming Wills India Fashion Week means business and has dedicated an extra day for business opportunities.

New Delhi: The upcoming Wills India Fashion Week (WIFW) will add a new feature to its annual event by dedicating an extra day only for business, aimed at buyers and designers, it was announced on Thursday.

Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), which holds the event, also said that mobile communications giant Nokia will be the exclusive associate sponsor of the fashion week – which starts on August 30 and ends on September 4.

"The event is truly dedicated to the business of fashion. This is why we have added an extra day - September 4 - totally dedicated to business opportunities," noted designer and president of FDCI, Ritu Kumar said.

The fashion week aims to gain recognition from buyers and retailers as the single-largest business-to-business platform for the fashion design industry, FDCI officials said.

Over 75 designers are expected to participate in the event including Rina Dhaka, JJ Valaya and Tarun Tahiliani.

Nokia marketing director Devinder Kishore also announced that his company will be creating a collection of luxury handsets for the event in association with designer Ashish Soni.

"The partnership with WIFW and Ashish Soni will help Nokia reiterate its leadership in style, design and lifestyle and make Nokia handsets a compelling choice for the fashion conscious consumers," Kishore said.
