Telangana, Andhra Pradesh Sizzle Under Heat Wave Conditions
In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, temperatures have broken all records.

Over 150 people have died due to severe heat wave condition in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. With temperatures expected to remain above 40 degrees Celsius, the situation continues to remain grim.

In a brick factory near Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, workers are fighting on two fronts, one against poverty and the other with scorching heat.

"We have never faced this much heat before. Government should provide more relief to us. There is nothing by which we get to protect ourselves from hot weather," a worker said.

Assistant Meteorologist of IMD Hyderabad M Narsimha Rao said, "Temperatures will be around 44, 45 degrees Celsius. By end of May, temperature to go up by 47, 48 degrees Celsius. In some areas like rocky regions can go upto 50 degrees also."

Subbamma, a resident of Telangana, is fighting a lone battle for survival. Her husband, was an auto driver by profession and the only working member of the family, lost his life due to extreme heat wave.

"I have two daughters. My husband was the only source of income. I am also sick now. We have not got any help from government," she said.

In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, temperatures have broken all records. Over 2,000 deaths were reported in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in 2015.
