New Delhi: A district court will review the 1996 Suryanelli rape case on Wednesday. The case relates to the rape of a 16-year-old girl of Suryanelli in Idukki District.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien faced a setback in the case after a sessions court in Kerala had issued a notice to him on a criminal petition filed by the rape survivor in March. Notices were also issued to prime accused Dharmarajan and two others in the case.
The victim, a school girl, was allegedly abducted and taken to various places and sexually exploited by over 40 different persons.
