BANGALORE: The number of supporters visiting Freedom Park on Day 11 has fallen sharply to just 15,000 on Friday. However, this has not dampened the spirits of volunteers who have been working hard at the Park for the past 11 days.“There is overwhelming support from the youth. Increase or decrease in number of supporters does not determine the success of the movement,” said Justice Santosh Hegde. He further stated: “We do not want people to come here and crowd the park, the movement will go on whether people turn out in huge numbers or not.” Criticising the Government’s delay on passing the bill, Hegde, said, “In 11 minutes the Lok Sabha passes 17 bills without any discussion but for Lokpal Bill, they are taking more than 4 to 5 months.” Nothing seems to deter Anna’s supporters at Freedom Park. They remain optimistic about the outcome of the movement despite the numbers of the protesters being reduced.“I was fired from my job because I supported IAC. I have been working at the Park for the past 11 days and I feel the same as I did on the first day,” said Prasanna Karthik, a volunteer.Meanwhile different organisations continue to offer their support to the movement.Around 500 people from Sapna Book House assembled at the park.Canadian- based company, Tobo also joined the protest.“Every Friday our team comes to Freedom Park to support Team Anna,” a supporter from Tobo said.
