'When Affirmative Action is Your Basis for Hiring': Ramaswamy Takes Shot at US Vice Prez Harris
Indian American GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy compares Kamala Harris and Harvard President Claudine Gay, addressing issues of affirmative action

Indian American presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy took a shot at Kamala Harris, drawing a comparison between the US Vice President and embattled Harvard President Claudine Gay, who is embroiled in an anti-Semitism and plagiarism row.

“Claudine Gay presents the same problem for Harvard as Kamala Harris presents for the Democrats: when affirmative action is your basis for hiring, firing becomes impossible. Most Harvard alums know it, they’re just afraid to say it. But to fix a problem, you have to name it first,” Ramaswamy wrote on X on Sunday.

Ramaswamy’s comments come amid growing pressure on Harvard’s President to resign. In early December, Gay gave long, legalistic answers when asked whether students who call for the “genocide of Jews” on their campuses violate codes of student conduct. The was intense blowback over her remarks, with donors threatening to rescind millions of dollars to the institutions. Gay later acknowledged her mistake for failing to strongly condemn threats of anti-Semitic violence on her campus.

Pressure again started building on the Ivy League university last week after Harvard’s research integrity officer, Stacey Springs, reportedly received a complaint detailing more than 40 allegations of plagiarism regarding Gay’s academic works. Republican lawmaker Elise Stefanik, whose House Committee grilling ignited the firestorm, accused Harvard of shielding Gay.

“Harvard President Claudine Gay faces OVER 40 serious allegations of plagiarism. A single case of plagiarism is against Harvard’s code of conduct and can lead to expulsion for students. America knows the continuation of Claudine Gay as President is untenable. Harvard is too afraid of the Far Left to stand up for academic and moral integrity,” she said on social media platform X.
