BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday directed the Wakf Board and Windsor Manor Hotel management to suggest an arbitrator to resolve the dispute between the two. The court gave this direction to the two parties in connection with a petition seeking the appointment of an arbitrator after former Supreme Court Judge Shivaraj Patil resigned soon after he took over as the Lokayukta. Hearing the petition the division bench comprising Justice K Sreedhar Rao and Justice V Suri Appa Rao directed the two parties to suggest arbitrator’s name and adjourned the matter.Notice to Centre, Poll Panel ChiefThe High Court on Wednesday issued notices to Union Government, Election Commission and the State Chief Electoral Officer to explore the possibilities for simplifying the process of enrolment for elections to graduates’ constituency of Bangalore.Petitioner Ashwin Mahesh, in his PIL contended that there is only one registration office for eight BBMP wards. Those living in areas which do not come under BBMP areas have to go to far off places to register themselves as voters and due to this, many graduates are not being able to register  for election. If the Election Commission simplifies the process of enrolment by allowing bulk registration, making it online and opening registration offices in each ward it  will be easy to register.
