Melbourne: India's Somdev Devvarman has been drawn against a tough first round opponent in Spain's Tommy Robredo in the Australian Open tennis beginning here on Monday.
Debutant Somdev, ranked 110, has been given a wildcard and for the first time, he will meet 51st-ranked Robredo, ranked as high as No5 in 2006.
In the women's singles, Sania Mirza is playing in the qualifiers, where she reached the second round here on Friday.
Sania, seeded 24, beat Iryna Kuryanovich of Belarus, 6-4, 6-2. She next plays Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia.
