A 35-year-old man was allegedly killed by his wife for having an illicit relationship with another woman, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place on Tuesday when Abid was asleep and his wife Faiha (32) hacked him with an axe in Begum Sarai locality in Ikauna area of Shravasti , they said.

Later, the accused woman was arrested and accepted her crime during interrogation, police said.
The woman alleged that her husband had an illicit relationship with another woman, whom he was going to marry soon, they said.
