New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shiraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday called on his party colleague and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discussed various issues of importance to the State.
Among other things, he urged that rice grown in Madya Pradesh be treated on par with Basmati rice.
In a statement issued here on his return from Delhi, Mr. Chouhan expressed confidence that there would be no more "discrimination" against the State.
The two, he said, also discussed issues such as increase in State's share in Central taxes and greater autonomy in chalking out various developmental schemes.
Issues such as changes in the format of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and Centre- State share in Right to Education Act came up during the discussion.
Mr. Chouhan expressed confidence that all states and regions would develop evenly under Mr. Modi's leadership.
