New Delhi The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday took an exception to the unauthorised occupation of government accommodation by some politicians and by Bihar Governor Buta Singh in New Delhi.
"Buta Singh is the Governor of Bihar. How can he be occupying a house in Delhi. Throw him out," a Bench comprising Justice B N Agarwal and Justice A K Mathur observed while hearing a PIL.
The Bench said that the law of eviction has failed completely and the politicians, who laid down the law are, violating by overstaying.
Besides, Buta Singh, the list include three General Secretaries of Congress, CPI-M leader Harkishan Singh Surjit, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister M S Yadav and former Union ministers and BJP leader Rajnath Singh and Jaswant Singh.
The Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam informed the court that there are 465 cases of unauthorised occupation of government accomodation in New Delhi.
