BANGALORE: Making its services more friendly and easy for the customers the State Bank of Mysore (SBM) launched its two new green banking initiatives here on Sunday. This was observed along with the commemoration of SBM’s 98th foundation day celebration.Meanwhile, to add to the celebration a voluntary blood donation camp, the brainchild of Dilip Mavinkurve, managing director, SBM, was also organised by SBM, Bangalore Zone-1 at SBM, Jayanagar Branch premises.Inaugurating the blood donation camp organised in association with NIMHANS blood bank, Pankaj Chandra, director, IIMB, appreciating the initiative said, “It is not just business, but SBM has been expanding their wings towards a lot of community and social services and taking into consideration the importance of blood.This is a very good initiative.” Explaining the two new services that were inaugurated, Damodar Marla, chief manager, SBM Jayanagar Branch said, “If the customers have grievances, instead of calling up or walking into the SBM office, they can message ‘UNHAPPY’ to 9900020002.The branch office where the customer has the account will be alerted.” Also realising the importance of the customer’s time, another facility of online loan registration for home loan, car loan, education loan and MSME loan was inaugurated. Said Marla, “Those wishing to avail loan can go to our website and register.” Meanwhile, Sashi Deshpande, noted writer who has been a customer of SBM for more than 30 years and M Sheshadri, the great grandson of SBM founder M Visvesvarya were also felicitated. More than 150 people, including employees, customers and public turned up for blood donation.
