Rituals being conducted as per traditions: TTD

TIRUPATI: A day after Chinna Jeeyar swamy said there are many things wrong with both the rituals and the administration at Tirumala, the TTD executive officer LV Subrahmanyam took serious exceptions to the pontiff’s comments.Speaking to mediapersons at Kalyana Venkateswara swamy temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram on Saturday, he found fault with Chinna Jeeyar for drawing parallel between the Tirumala temple and Guruvayur temple and said that every temple has its own uniqueness and significance.“Both temple have their own rituals and sampradayas and insisting on following of rituals of one temple in the other is no good,” he said.Maintaining that rituals were taking place as per traditions and the temple had a well-established system of Jeeyars, Archakas, Acharya Purush, he said if there are any lapses, it can be rectified by taking their advice.He also clarified that any change in administration or introduction of new programmes is only done after taking everything into consideration and everybody’s opinion.“People of Jeeyar’s stature should not make comments which hurt the sentiments of devotees,” Subrahmanyam said.He also said the Thousand Pillars mandapam has nothing to do with Agama Sastra or temple rituals.“The mandapam was constructed for the benefit of pilgrims.In due course it had got weakened.It was demolished to give way for better crowd management,” he added.Meanwhile, the Chinna Jeeyar on Saturday offered his prayers to Lord Venkateswara outside the temple itself
