Vijay Diwas will be celebrated in the city on July 26 at Necklace Road in a solemn and befitting manner Monday to commemorate 12 years of victory of the Indian Armed Forces in Kargil over Pakistan. Indian Army Fans will beconducting a candle light vigil on July 26 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.Indian Army Fans is a voluntary organisation of individuals who respect the defense services of the country. They took the initiative last year on account of 10 years completion of the Kargil War victory, to commemorate and pay tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War and are committed to continue the saga every year across India in every state.Vijay Diwas named after Operation Vijay, is to celebrate the victory of the military operation in 1999 at Kargil, the first Pakistani push into the Indian-held part of Kashmir since the 1971 war between the two countries.
