A special court has awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 to a person for raping a minor Dalit girl.
The sentence was pronounced on Monday by Special Judge (Atrocities) Vibhawari Joshi against accused Prem Shankar Rajput for raping the minor Dalit girl on February 14, 2012, when she was alone at her residence.
After committing the crime, he escaped. The victim later narrated her ordeal to her grandmother, after which he was arrested.
