PUDUCHERRY: The government will recruit 1000 personnel to fill up vacant posts in police including India Reserve Battalion by December,said Chief minister N Rangasamy while replying to a question from Om Sakthi Segar (AIADMK)on Saturday.In a bid to prevent pig menace, the government will provide cows under a government scheme to those rearing pigs as an alternative source of livelihood, he said in reply to another question from A Baskar (AIADMK). The government will also examine the recent acts with regard to the stray dog menace as suggested by Congress MLA E Valsaraj.Baskar said that one person died after being bitten by a stray dog and another was in a serious condition. PNR Thirumurugan (Cong) highlighted the pig menace and sought a ban on pig rearing.Replying to another question from P Purushottaman (AIADMK) and Nantha T Saravanan (DMK), Chief Minister said distribution of subsidised cattle feed would be resumed by the government through its outlets.
