Islamabad: Tests conducted on disgraced Pakistan nuclear scientist A Q Khan, who is suffering from prostrate cancer, have found that he is out of danger, officials said.

A test carried out at the National Institute of Handicapped on Thursday found that he was apparently out of danger and could recover after treatment, officials were quoted as saying by the Nation.

Khan's medical examination was mainly being conducted at Khan Research Laboratory, the premier nuclear research body of Pakistan and Military Hospitals.

Khan was suffering from Adino Carcinoma (Cancer) of prostate and further investigations were being conducted by a board of doctors, an official spokesman had announced on August 22.

Khan has been held in house arrest since 2004 after reports surfaced that he had passed out nuclear technology to North Korea, Iran and Libya.
