Padayatra at 62 is a bold move

Having been the chief minister of the state for nine years and opposition leader for an equal term, he has decided to do something to bail out the people from the crisis situation they are facing on various fronts now, TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said.

Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day extended state executive meeting at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Tuesday, where he prepared his party executives for his  ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ padayatra to be launched on Oct. 2, he said the decision to undertake the 117-day programme at the age of 62 was indeed a bold one.

“I want to see the hardships being faced by people. I want to interact with them and extend solidarity with them. I want to find out a way to help them overcome the  difficulties,” Naidu said explaining the  rationale behind undertaking the yatra.

Naidu called upon his party cadre and people to make his padayatra scheduled to start from Hindupur in Anantapur district a success.

While Naidu’s padayatra would go on without much political hype, the TDP cadre would  take up another programme, Palle Palleku,  for two months from October 20 to strengthen the party base in rural areas.
