New Delhi: The Khandamal violence against Christians in Orissa now has it's first veiled face in the media The Orissa nun who was allegedly raped in the middle of the anti Christian rage spoke out on Friday.
She came up with a bold and graphic recollection of the torture, trauma and pain that she and others with her went through even as the Orissa police played by stander
It was a press conference where no questions were allowed to be asked the sister, allegedly raped in the anti-Christian violence that rocked Kandhamal and in hiding for over two months, made a dramatic appearance. She came in by the back gate was fiercely protected by the Church one side and her lawyers on the other she had a nightmare to narrate:
"One person stood on my right hand and the other one at left, and the third person raped me," says the Sister.
Shrinking from the battery of cameras, not looking up once, eyes glued to the paper reading out her pain in a feeble voice, she was visibly uncomfortable.
This appearance coming just two days after the Supreme Court turned down her plea for a CBI enquiry into her rape but the sister's statement is a strong indictment of the state police.
"I went to policemen, asking them to protect me. I sat in between three policemen, but they did not move. Police did not take down my statement, I was raped, and now i don't want to be recognised by the Orissa police,” the Sister adds.
The point is clear she will not cooperate with the state police on this investigation the state government has even agreed to a test identification parade anywhere outside the state, nine people have already been arrested but the sister is not going back
The sister's horror story ended with these last words. “May God Bless India...may god bless your all"
