New Delhi: Christmas with the royal family of Britain – a tempting offer, you would think?
Not for Prince William's girlfriend Kate Middleton, who has turned down the invitation to join royal family for Christmas at Sandringham, the Queen's country home in eastern England.
Kate says she will only accept the invitation if she and William get married, reported Daily Mail on Sunday.
Instead, the 24-year-old has other plans for Christmas. Kate has chosen to travel to Scotland to holiday with her parents and family.
Though the invitation was extended to her last month, senior Royal aides said they only recently learnt that Kate will not be visiting the Norfolk estate, the Mail reported.
Kate said she won't be going to Sandringham until she's a part of the family but marriage was not on the cards, a friend of Middleton told the paper.
But rumours of an impending Christmas engagement were fuelled by Kate's presence at the Prince’s graduation from Sandhurst, the British military academy, on Friday.
But sources said that though marriage didn’t seem out of the question, it would not take place this Christmas.
Sources added that Kate and William maintain a wall chart with a tally of how many times newspapers predict they will get married.
