Assuming office as the new Collector of Vellore, P Sankar on Monday said he would ensure that the needy and deserving persons benefit from government welfare schemes.
“My top priority is to implement the government welfare schemes effectively to bring a good name to the State Government and also ensure that the deserving and needy benefit from the welfare schemes,” said Sankar. He succeeds Ajay Yadav, who has been transferred to Chennai and posted as Joint Commissioner of Municipality Administration.
Sankar said he would look into the development work of his predecessor and carry out the good work.“I will study all the development works taken up by the predecessor and implement it. I will also bring in new ideas if needed,” he added.
Sankar has held various posts including Joint State Protocol Officer, Chennai, General Manager (Tourism), Chennai and Director of Information and Public Relations before being transferred and posted as the Vellore Collector.
