Muthoot chief's son stabbed to death in Kerala

Alappuzha: A prominent businessman of the Kerala-based Muthoot Finance group Paul George Muthoot was stabbed to death by a 12-member gang on Sunday at Pallathuruthi, police said.

Paul, son of MG George who heads the Muthoot Group, was waylaid and killed by the gang while he was returning home from a resort in his car, police said.

Business rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the murder, they said, adding that the attackers fled with the car in which Paul was travelling.

Meanwhile, the police remain clueless about the unidentified men who carried out the attack.

Paul's friend, who was with him at the time of the incident, has been admitted in hospital with blade injuries.

The police have detained 11 people for questioning.
