Lawyers lock Consumer court over vacant post

BARGARH: Members of Bargarh District Bar Association locked the District Consumer Redressal Forum for its failure to deliver justice, on the occasion of the World Consumer Day, on Thursday.As per the provision, a Consumer Court comprises two members, one among them being a woman, besides the President. Although the President has been nominated and there is a woman member, the post of the second member is lying vacant. Under the circumstances, consumer cases are not entertained here.The Bar had petitioned the State Government and the Minister for Consumer Affairs besides authorities concerned on the issue. The effort has gone waste.It was on Wednesday, the members resolved to lock the Consumer Court till the other member is appointed.
