Telangana Government Doubles Retirement Benefit For Anganwadi Teachers

There is great news for women, especially those involved with Anganwadi centres. The Telangana government has made an encouraging announcement. The government has declared that it will provide Rs 2 lakh, although this benefit will only apply to certain individuals.

The Telangana government is actively working to fulfil the promises made during the election campaign. The Congress party, before coming to power, made numerous promises and they are now systematically implementing them.

Several schemes have already been launched, such as free bus travel, farmer loan waivers, and free electricity. Additionally, the government announced an increase in the Aaroyo Sri Limit, among other initiatives.

In a recent development, Minister Seethakka announced another beneficial measure aimed at women, particularly those working in Anganwadis. The government has decided to double the retirement benefit for Anganwadi teachers from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. Proposals related to this increase have already been sent to the Finance Department.

The honorarium for Anganwadi workers, which was previously Rs 50,000, will also be doubled to Rs 1 lakh. If the Finance Department approves these proposals, retiring Anganwadi teachers and workers will receive double the current amount, providing significant financial relief.

Dansari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, is an Indian politician serving as the Cabinet Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, Women and Child Welfare in the Government of Telangana. She represents the Mulug constituency in the Telangana Legislative Assembly.

She won the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election and the 2018 and 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections. In June 2018, she was appointed the General Secretary of the All India Mahila Congress and in August 2019, she became the state president of the Chhattisgarh Mahila Congress. She is sometimes referred to as the “Iron Lady of Telangana.”
