KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday refused to stay further proceedings in the FIR registered against Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan and seven others.The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered an FIR against V S Achuthanandan on charges that as the Chief Minister he had illegally allotted 2.33 acres of government land in Kasargod district to his relative T K Soman.Justice P S Gopinathan also directed the state government to file a statement within 10 days. The petition by A Suresh, the eighth accused, said he was wrongly arraigned as accused.Others figuring in the case are CPI leader and former Revenue Minister K P Rajendran, then Land Revenue Commissioner K R Muraleedharan, IAS officer Sheela Thomas, Principal Secretary to Achuthanandan when he was the CM, Soman, former Kasargod Collectors Anand Singh and Krishnan Kutty and VS’s personal aide A Suresh.
