King Khan to tempt Delhites on X-mas
In his first stage performance in Delhi, Shahrukh Khan will perform at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Christmas eve.

New Delhi: As part of Temptations 2005, superstar Shah Rukh Khan is to perform in his home town Delhi this Christmas eve.

With over 30 performances across the globe, the multi-star extravaganza has become a legend in its own right.

King Khan would lead a line-up of luminaries from the tinsel town including Rani Mukherji, Priyanka Chopra, Zayed Khan and Esha Deol at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

The purpose behind this stage show is to raise funds for the 70 million disabled people in India.

The show would also create a barrier free environment for the National Access Campaign launched by the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for the Disabled People (NCPEDP).

The decade-old NCPEDP, with Congress President Sonia Gandhi as its founding Chairperson, has been leading the fight for rights of he disabled.

The show will be scripted, directed and coordinated by Moranis and Soorma of Cineyug Entertainment.

The superstar said he felt fortunate to contribute his bit as a performer to an institution like NCPEDP, which was playing a key role to ensure that disabled people got their due from the society.

"This will be my first day show and we plan to do it as exciting as we have done in the previous tour," he said.

There are over 70 million disabled people in India, but less than one per cent of the children with disability receive education of any kind.

Most of the transport, education and work infrastructure in the country do not have accessible feature and thus effectively forcing disabled people to become prisoners in their homes.

Even ten years after the disability act was passed, disabled people are waiting for opportunities for jobs, education and participation in public life.
