Mumbai: Director Karan Malhotra, who tasted success with Hrithik-Priyanka starrer 'Agneepath', says that he has not signed Kareena Kapoor for his next film. "I am still scripting. My wife Ekta Pathak Malhotra and I...we both are writing the script. She is helping me with the story. All I can say is it is not a remake. It is very much an original film," Malhotra told PTI.
There was a buzz in B-town that Kareena Kapoor has been signed for Malhotra's second film.
"We have not finalised anyone for the film yet. We have few people in mind for this film. We will approach people once we are done with the script. We can't talk about who we are thinking of for this film," Malhotra said.
Malhotra, who would be making this film under Karan Johar's production house, says the official announcement will come from the makers soon.
"I think in a month or two we should be done with the scripting. Then we will announce about the film and the star cast. The moment it is ready Karan Johar will be the first one to announce it," he said.
Malhotra made his directorial debut with 'Agneepath', a remake of the 1990 Hindi film of the same name made by Karan Johar's late father, Yash Johar.
The remake saw Hrithik Roshan reprising the iconic role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan earlier played by Amitabh Bachchan, with Priyanka Chopra as the female lead. The role of villain played by Danny Denzongpa was essayed by Sanjay Dutt.
The new 'Agneepath', which released in January this year was a huge hit.
