THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sree Padmanabha, the city’s first theatre to receive ISO certificate and Platinum theatre status, has introduced a new offer. All those who join the Facebook page of Sree Padmanabha Theatre before Wednesday will get a privilege card, which would enable them to buy tickets without standing in queue. According to Girish Chandran, managing director of Sree Padmanabha, the privilege card holder can buy tickets directly from the office. “Only thing is that they must come at least 45 minute early to buy the ticket. So far, 1,054 people have added to the page. Seeing the huge response, the offer was extended till Wednesday,” he said. On why Facebook, Girish said audience were actively participating in Facebook discussions. He feels the audience response will help them improve. “In order to avoid misuse, a photo-affixed privilege card will be introduced. A person can buy two tickets using a single card,” Girish said. Sree Padmanabha theatre is now celebrating its 40th anniversary. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the theatre has introduced an innovative scheme whereby one per cent of the ticket revenue will be donated to poor cancer patients. The money will be donated to Pallium India by P Surahmaniyum Foundation. The late P Subrahmaniyam was a veteran producer and founder of Merryland studio. The theatre was recently awarded ISO certificate by the Bureau of Accredited Register - America.
