Dhaka: Japan will lend $63 million to Bangladesh for a maternal and child health project.

The money will be used in training health workers and upgrading facilities and equipment related to maternal, neonatal and child health, Xinhua quoted a statement of the Japanese embassy as saying on Wednesday.

The loan is provided through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the interest rate of 0.01 per cent per annum, with the repayment period of 40 years.
