ROURKELA: The inquiry conducted by Assistant District Medical Officer (Public Health) Santosh Naik on Sunday after 17 students of Chikatmati Project UP School fell ill on consuming noon meal, remained inconclusive. Naik said nearly 40 boarders along with their teachers had taken the mid-day meal on Saturday. After 3 pm, 17 students showed symptoms of gastroenteritis and were rushed to the Rourkela Government Hospital. He said the dry foodgrains and vegetable samples appeared to be perfect and water fetched from the tube-well was also good. School authorities claimed fresh cooked food was served to the children.
