Injured Owen out to promote watch
The England striker, who has been injured since New Year's eve, hopes to be back on the pitch in a few weeks.

New Delhi: Newcastle United and England striker Michael Owen was one of the star attractions at the London Fashion Week.

He was there to promote a new watch manufactured by his sponsor, Tissot, who are also the official partners of London Fashion Week.

Owen hit the headlines with a super solo effort against Argentina in the 1998 football World Cup and has been Tissot's world wide Brand Ambassador since then.

The England striker, who has been injured since New Year's eve, hopes to be back on the pitch in a few weeks.

He hopes to recover fully in time for the World Cup finals in Germany starting on June 9.

"In the last couple of days I've started to run again so I think that I'm nearly halfway in my recovery. It's been difficult to start with because you can't really put any weight through your leg so I've lost a little bit of muscle on certain muscles, but now I'm in the rehabilitation stage and hopefully I'll be back in a few more weeks," Owen said.

"I think there's plenty of teams that have got a good chance in the World Cup. I think England are one of them. Germany, Brazil, Italy, Holland, there's many teams, Czech Republic, France, there's so many teams, and Argentina I suppose are very good as well. There's lots of teams that can win it and I think we're one of them," he added.

England have been grouped with Paraguay, Trinidad-Tobago and Sweden in group B for the 2006 World Cup.
