HYDERABAD: Hailing the unity of the country despite all its diversities, vice-president M Hamid Ansari has said the open-mindedness and cohesion would promote social cooperation among people. "What is unique about us is that we celebrate our diversity. According to one official authoritative survey, there are something like 4,693 communities in India. Each community has a distinctive identity but nobody says that every individual community should not have an identity. "The greatness of our land, our system is we accept that identity and we can still stand as one and say we are Indians. This requires not only a cultural moulding of the mind but also of a commitment. The commitment is to each other," he said.
