In two separate encounters in the Valley, a arkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HUJI) was killed and a policeman injured on Wednesday morning.
New Delhi: A militant belonging to Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HUJI) was killed and a policeman injured in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
HUJI militant, Noor-ud-din Khadi was a resident of Kokernag and was killed in a gunbattle with security forces during search operations at Goori in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district on Wednesday morning. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from him.
In another encounter, militants shot at a policeman near the Dastigeer Sahib shrine at Khanyar in Srinagar. Taking advantage of panic following the gunbattle, the militants fled the scene.
The Police are on a hunt to nab them.
