Heatwave condition sweeps Rajasthan, Barmer boils at 44.8 deg C

Blistering heatwave conditions on Thursday swept across Rajasthan with Barmer sizzling at 44.8 degrees C.

According to MeT office, mercury rose one to four notches at most places in the State during last 24 hours with weather conditions remaining dry.

Heatwave conditions persisted in northwest of Rajasthan specially in Jaisalmer, Barmer, Kota, Bikaner, Churu, Jodhpur where maximum temperature was above 43.2 degrees C, it said.

Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 42.3 degrees C, followed by Ganganagar 42.4, Ajmer 41.5 and Pilani 41.2 degrees C.

The MeT office, in a forecast, said weather would be mainly dry in the State with severe heatwave conditions in the next few days.
