HYDERABAD: All the activity being undertaken by the Hyderabad Golf Association near the Mustafa Khan mosque at Nayaquilla near the Golconda Fort shall stop and that the Archaeological Survey of India and the district administration take steps for removal of heavy vehicles and machinery from the area, the High Court ordered on Friday.A division bench comprising chief justice Madan B Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar passed the interim orders while dealing with a writ petition filed by Mohammed Afzal and another, and posted the matter to March 13.The petitioners contended that they had filed the case complaining about HGA's activity in survey number 40 of Quila Mohammad Nagar village in Golconda mandal which forms part of the protected monument. The Wakf Board had conducted a survey and, after the visit by one senior advocate, the case was heard on February 13. The petitioners said the HGA had taken up land-filling, removal of earth mounds and dumping lorry-loads of sand from February 14. Necessary photographs were enclosed. The bench did not appreciate the works taken up by the HGA and wondered what was happening. It ordered stoppage of all works and made the officers responsible for removal of vehicles and asked them to take police help, if necessary.
