Jaipur: Lashing out at the opposition BJP, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday challenged the party to prove any allegation levelled against him. Speaking at the launch of Congress Sandesh Yatra at the party office in Jaipur, Gehlot said that allegations were also levelled against him 32 years back when he was an MP but they turned out to be baseless.
"BJP leaders are levelling allegations that I have a flat in Mumbai and a five-star hotel in my son's name, but such allegations had also been levelled 32 years back when I was elected as an MP. I challenge them to prove these baseless allegations," Gehlot said. Highlighting his achievements, he added that the Congress government in Rajasthan has taken many pro-people decisions in all sectors which had delivered encouraging results.
"The government's financial management is robust and we presented a surplus budget. Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia appreciated the state budget," he said. Referring to BJP state chief Vasundhara Raje's Yatra, which is scheduled to be held next week, Gehlot said, "BJP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari has rightly said that looters are taking out the yatra and will loot all the mineral resources of the state."
He added that, "They (BJP) have already minted in the name of 90-B (land conversion) when they were in power and now they are after mineral resources." Gehlot said that despite that, the future of the state is bright due to its abundant natural resources.
