Freedom Jam from January 26

PUDUCHERRY: The ninth annual ‘Freedom Jam- Pondy 2012’ will be held from January 26 to 29 to celebrate Republic Day weekend. On  January 26 and 27,  the performances will be held at Gandhi Thidal on Beach Road  featuring Indian classical, both Carnatic and Hindustani, folk, fusion and Indipop. Pandit Debiprasad, P V Bose, Vidushi Geetha Navale are some of  performers in the classical genre.The next two days, Saturday and Sunday, will see the festival continue at the Alliance Francaise Maison Colombani, on the southern end of Rue Dumas and Beach Road, featuring mostly western styles of music. White Lady, Zilverzurf from Sweden, Shakey Rays, LBG, Frank’s got the Funk, Boomculture Histryonics, Lucid Dreams are some of bands that will perform.
